Community Days in Mahapach-Taghir Communities

In spite of troubled times - which brought to the surface latent fears, mounting stress, and a certain level of civic passivity – a rich variety of communal activities took place over the past months, celebrating holidays and other local events. In Tamra and Yaffia year opening events drew some eighty people in each of the communities. The 'March of Lights' community day took place in the Florentine neighborhood in Hannuka, with over one hundred participants. Community planting events took place on Tu BiShvat in Florentine, Kattamonim, as well as in Kiyat Shemona, where the day was organized together with the local communal-environmental organization 'Park HaZahav'. Purim was a joyous event in the Sderot community, where fifty students, children and their families gathered for their first communal event after the January war.
