About Mahapach-Taghir

Mahapach-Taghir is a Jewish–Arab, feminist, non-profit organization for social change established in 1999. The vision of Mahapach-Taghir is a just Israeli society with equal socio-economic and educational opportunities for all, and a strong democratic civil society. Mahapach-Taghir’s main goal is to minimize educational and social gaps in Israeli society.

Day seminar in east Jerusalem

During June, the students of Kattamonim and Kiryat-Yovel communities took part in a day seminar regarding East-Jerusalem. The day included an alternative tour in east-Jerusalem (held by The Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions), and discussions with residents.

Environmental sculpture in Florentine

During a community action day of the Florentine Learning Community, the students and children designed and build an environmental sculpture. The pictures shows the different stages of the building of the sculpture; arranging the tires and filling them with waste, covering it with cement and painting the sculpture.

Activists Seminar in Peqiin – a Personal Experience

When I invited my friends to join the Activists Seminar in Peqiin, they responded with sayings like "but I'm not an activist" or "what dose activist means?". And so I began to think: am I an "activist"? And what does this big word truly means to me?

Day Seminar in Sderot

The students of Sderot community took part in a day seminar regarding 'Marginalized Communities'. The seminar aim was to explain the meaning of the term 'marginalized'.

Community Days in Mahapach-Taghir Communities

March of LightsIn spite of troubled times - which brought to the surface latent fears, mounting stress, and a certain level of civic passivity – a rich variety of communal activities took place over the past months, celebrating holidays and other local events. In Tamra and Yaffia year opening events drew some eighty people in each of the communities.
